Homes for Hope Groundbreaking Celebration

Last week, we held a trade partner lunch in celebration of the groundbreaking of Rosewood’s sixth collaboration with Homes for HOPE. Matt Beahr, Executive Director of Homes for HOPE, was able to fly in for the celebratory lunch and deliver an emotive and motivating speech on the impact of Homes for HOPE’s work around the world. Homes for HOPE, established by HOPE international founder Jeff Rutt, utilizes sustainable micro-enterprise development, focusing on a “hand up” rather than a “hand out” as a response to global poverty. The funds for these microloans are generated through builder donations based on the profits of a dedicated home. The profit donation is a collaborative effort between the builder and the trade partners, to ensure that the dedicated home is built with quality in mind.

This project, which will take place in our Whispering Homes community in Mauldin, will be Rosewood’s sixth collaboration with Homes for HOPE. The past five projects have generated almost $400,000 in total, with donations of around $80,000 per home. We are confident that, with the collaboration of our trade partners and sub-contractors, this sixth collaboration will generate the highest donation yet.
